We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager based in Durban to oversee projects in refinery environments. The ideal candidate will combine construction management expertise with industry-specific experience in oil, gas, or refinery projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Supervise multiple construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.
- Act as the main liaison between clients, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain effective communication.
- Monitor project budgets and ensure financial targets are met.
- Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders on milestones, challenges, and changes.
- Ensure quality control standards are consistently met.
- Administer contracts following JBCC, NEC, and FIDIC guidelines.
- Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Engage new clients and explore business opportunities.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- National Diploma, B-Tech, or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Several years of hands-on construction project management experience, preferably with refinery or oil & gas projects.
- Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate multidisciplinary construction activities.
- Strong skills in project planning, cost control, quality assurance, and health & safety compliance.
- Experience managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
- Registration or willingness to register with SACPCMP as a Professional or Candidate Construction Project Manager is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and conflict management skills.
- Proficiency in technical reporting, procurement management, and construction execution planning.
- Familiarity with construction standards, regulations, and project management software.
