Transnet Corporate Centre and Academy is inviting recently qualified graduates to apply for the Young Professional-in-Training (Environmental Management) programme. This 24-month initiative is designed to provide workplace exposure, structured learning, and professional support to help graduates build their careers in the field of environmental management.

Position Purpose

The programme aims to give participants practical work experience while contributing to environmental and sustainability functions within Transnet. Graduates will gain structured mentorship, hands-on project involvement, and skills development across multiple areas of the business.

Position Outputs

As a Young Professional-in-Training, you will:

• Shadow staff members and participate in learning experiences, workshops, and meetings.

• Gain practical exposure to multiple business functions.

• Communicate with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide progress updates.

• Ensure queries are resolved in a professional and timely manner.

• Provide research, administrative, and project assistance.

• Take work briefs from mentors or specialists and deliver structured outputs.

• Execute tasks individually and collaboratively while meeting deadlines.

• Produce quality work that supports project solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• National Diploma or BCom Degree in Environmental Management (or related qualification).

• 0–1 year of relevant work experience.

• Must be a South African citizen.

• Age: between 18 and 35 years.

Competencies

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Ability to work effectively within a team.

• Attention to detail with problem-solving skills.
